The Sahara in Scandinavia? The moving sand dunes at Raabjerg Mile in Northern Jutland in Denmark come close. We came in the evening at 9 PM when all other tourists had left. The light was almost magical, and the kids had fun in the sand.
Denmark’s northernmost point, Grenen, where the two seas, the Skagerrak and the Kattegat, violently meet. The scenic nature and light attracted the famous impressionist artist group, the Skagen Painters, to the nearby village in the late 19th century.
